I haven’t picked up some J’s in a while, but I had to grab these Air Jordan 3 Katrina AKA Hall of Fame.
These originally released in very limited numbers as an auction shoe to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They have now gone out to the public as a general release.
These are basically a White Cement 3 with red on the midsole heel instead of black. Thus, many types of outfits can work with the shoe. Almost any shade of khaki, dark or light denim plus a white, grey or black tee will work. This is one of the more “effortless” types of kicks to rock thanks to the mostly white and grey upper.
How Are The Materials?
Some complain about inconsistent leather grain on the Jordan 3 HoF, but overall the pairs released were decent quality.
I did find some odd QC issues like a loose thread and some minor paint errors but these are only visible when really close up. Overall the leather is pretty decent for a Jordan retro. If you’ve gotten any of the other 3s in the last few years, you probably have an idea what these are like. At least it’s not the shiny leather from a the late 2000s!
How Do The Air Jordan 3 Hall of Fame Fit?
The Air Jordan 3 Katrina fit comfortably at true to size.
Threes are in general one of the more tolerable AJ models. The shape is pretty good too, although I did slightly reshape the tip of the toebox just a tad.
This colorway is really dope. I think Jordan made a future classic with these just based off how clean these look. Rarely am I compelled to pay full retail for some new Jordans, so you could say I definitely wanted to make sure I had these. This colorway is so nice, I just enjoy looking at the shoe. If you can find a pair I highly recommend picking them up.
